loveshoot: jenny and sam, nyc
i was so proud of mel and i for finding jenny and sam's apartment without getting lost! they live above a tatto parlor, so we were not sure what to expect when we met them. : )

i love this shot with the women walking right through it....in north carolina people stop and wait for us to take photos or go around, but in nyc, they just walk on through. just kidding all of you new yorkers!

i could not decide which one i liked better. which shot do you like...kissing or

running?

some retro fun. i played with all kinds of actions to get this old school effect.
sam just finished up at NYU. congrats sam!

which shoe shot? shadow or

man hole cover?

after the shoot jenny and sam took us to the "dosa man". the best dosas in the city. they were d-licious!

news: southern weddings features abby and kevin's wilmington wedding
i know, i know, i am not supposed to be blogging this weekend, but i just could not help it! we were so excited when lara from the southern weddings blog asked to feature abby and kevin's wedding. check out southern weddings awesome blog here.
i love the way lara put all of our photos together into an inspiration board. you can check the southern weddings blog to get the low down about how kevin and abby pulled off one of the most gorgeous and fun weddings we have ever photographed!

the big day: erika + rick • asheville
one last post before i take off for a long weekend too! i think we must have broken some kind of record this week for number of blog posts- I think i'll give us an award from ourselves ;)
meet erika, very glamourous

omg, i love these veils

erika + rick chose to see each other before the wedding and do a "first look". we love when that happens!

this one might be my favorite

nope, it's this one
off to the ceremony

rick vowed to never negate tofu as a food group and erika vowed to watch dr. who with rick. that's love, folks ;)

they got married at homewood, which we love and they had pie instead of cake. mmmm, pie.

thanks guys! hope boston is treating you well!
personal: good times, bad times at the lakehouse
i bet i had you fooled! with all of the blogging going on this week you had no idea that i was at the lake!
my husband is a teacher. it is really unfair that he gets the entire summer off while i plug through the busy season. he and eliza have been doing all kinds of fun stuff while i work, work, work, and work some more! to make the summer work load a little more bearable we decided to come to the lake house this week. i brought my desktop computer and i set it up at the kitchen table, so i can look out at the lake as i edit and blog. when the sun goes down i take the laptop outside and sit on the boat to finish things up. i think brad is ready for me to take tomorrow off. it is difficult to explain to a 4 year old that mommy is working when all she wants to do is show me how good she is doing swimming with her floaties.
don't get me wrong, i am not complaining. i am happy that our business is doing so well! i am thankful for all of our amazing (and patient) clients! i am just trying to work through it all. i want to be the best at everything that i do. i am trying to find balance in my life. i love my work so much sometimes it is hard to stop, to turn off, and to live in the moment.
this weekend mel and her husband are going to spend a long weekend with tim's family to celebrate the 4th of july. i am packing up the computer and awaiting the arrival of our family at the lake house, so there will be a slight lull in our blogging madness. you need to get off the computer too and go and enjoy the sunshine!
oh, since a blog post without a photo is no fun....here is a shot of my black toenail polish (i am goth from my ankles down, hee hee), my laptop, and a cervesa at sunset. the second photo is my poor little liza jane. she had a little accident, but she is ok now. the blood was the scariest part! it looks worse than it is and my little darling has a dramatic flair, so she put on this poor pitiful face just for the camera.

i wish you and your family a fun 4th!
